The control module maintains the required system operating pressure, filters the water supply, and activates the operation of the nozzles based on signals received from a sensor, which is specified according to the application. The Mist System purchased from MEC Systems has worked out great. It has substantially decreased the amount airborne dust at our Sawmill and has made it a much healthier environment for our workers. After being faced with the pine beetle epidemic we were forced to deal with a much dryer fiber supply therefore a lot more dust. This mist system has allowed us to better cope with this issue and has become a key part of our day to day operations.
The MEC Mister system was first installed for cooling and humidifying all stages of have more breaks and more shoots. Our rose production has increased by at least 10% and maybe as much as 20%, also, 98% less mildew problems! Our business eliminated all of our pads and fans and now rely totally on fog for all of our cooling and humidifying needs. The energy savings have been significant. We eliminated 100 fan motors and replaced them with only 3 system motors.
Our ferns remain in the fog from start to finish. The ultra fine droplets with the MEC system keep plant water which enables us to better regulate growing. In fact, the system makes growing a lot easier. We achieve a 98% take. The system has definitely contributed to our success in growing a quality line. We don’t think it would be possible to grow a quality liner without the fog system in our climate. We also save 35 to 40% bench space using the Mister system.
We are a large biotechnology company with several Mister fog systems in use within the company. Our system over other humidification systems because there is no leaching of nutrients out of the plan, significantly lower mortality, and no over-wet conditions. Three of our systems are 1000 psi and one is 500 psi. We prefer 1000 psi because the fog stays suspended a lot better. We especially like the overall evenness and consistency of the system, achieving excellent results with most species yielding 99 to 100 per cent.
Our gravel company has used the Mister dust control system for the past eight years.
